Warhammer 40,000

What's it all about?

It is about 2 (or more) Armies fighting over a battlefield, 40,000 years into the future where space travel and laser weapons are common place.

What do you do?

Each Army sets up on a field of battle.  They then take it in turns to move, shoot and to get up close and personal in the combat phase.  The game normally lasts for 6 turns or a winner is declared.

What Armies are available?

As with most things there are good and evil and some that can be neutral.

GOOD GUYS      BAD GUYS               NEUTRAL

Space Marines       Chaos Space Marines        The Tau

Imperial Guard      Dark Eldar

Eldar                     Necrons

Daemonhunters       Tyranids

Blood Angels          Space Orks

Dark Angles           Plague Marines

Space Wolves        Thousand Sons

White Scars          Emperors Children

Catachans              Khorne Bezerkers

What do I need to buy to start?

Each Army regardless of race has to have a basic requirement of a HQ choice to lead the army and two troop choices taken from the chosen army Codex and the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook.

The best choice to start any army is its Codex, which gives background details, statistics for your soldiers and the weapons and vehicles they are able to battle with.

A £50 Battleforce will contain all the basic requirements for you to start playing straightaway.

What can I buy next?

A popular misconception when collecting Warhammer Products is the 'already got one of these' train of thought.  As can be seen in the example above two choices of the same type are required to start, an extreme example of repetition is the Imperial Guard which can potentially have 24 separate troop choices.

A good addition to any army is a Tank or a unit of men with heavy weapons to take on the enemy's tanks, or maybe a unit of men on motorbikes or with Assault packs to improve the armies fast attack ability.

Where can I play?
