The Imperial Guard
A Brief History: -
The 'Guard' are the Vanguard of the forces of the Imperium. They are the largest fighting force in the Universe. Most of the manpower is provided by the vast number of Imperial worlds as conscripts, the rest are loyalist volunteers. What this army lacks in fighting ability it more than makes up for in numbers of men, big guns and Tanks. These forces are kept in order and loyal by the feared Commissars, who administer their punishments for cowardice and disloyalty, usually this is death.
