About Us
Hobbits Hole was
formed in Spring of 2000, after conversion of the old smelly cellars underneath
Artists Corner, into a gamers paradise. We have two large rooms (but low
ceilings, Dwarfs welcome) and, four foot by four foot gaming tables as well as
an additional city fight table. These
can be made into two giant tables, and are regularly used as such on Saturdays
for Warhammer Fantasy, 40K and Lord of the Rings.
The club started slowly but has
risen in numbers to over 450 members and still rising. This means that we are now the
Warhammer club in the world.
The club is open for modeling and gaming Tuesday and Thursday evenings and all day Saturday. In school holidays we are open all day, Tuesday and Thursdays as well as Saturdays. Membership for the year costs £5.00 (pays for the lights and stuff) and Subs are then £1.00 per session, and £2.00 all day on Saturdays. This all gets put into the club kitty and pays for dice, scenery, club glue, etc.
We hold regular Gaming tournaments and campaigns as well as a number of painting competitions throughout the year.
Of course the most important part of any club is its members, from tall to short, old to young the club provides for all (though you must be at least 10 to join) and for the younger members and anyone at all who requires help the supervisors are always on hand to give you a nudge in the right direction.
We have the entire Games Workshop catalogue on our on-line shopping site and process orders quickly and reliably, provided that we have items in stock. (We carry a large stock and therefore have few problems). We have effectively distributed all around the globe and have regular orders from North America and Australia.
